The new M&S Trafford Centre store, spanning an impressive 98,000 sq ft, emerged as a beacon of retail excellence, boasting expansive Clothing, Home, and Beauty departments, alongside a brand-new M&S Cafe. However, the crown jewel of this retail marvel was the all-new “market style” Food Hall, replete with the full M&S Food range and featuring wider, brighter aisles.

Amid M&S’s ambitious plans for expansion and regeneration, our company was entrusted with the crucial task of providing comprehensive ducting, ductwork, and ventilation solutions for the entire commercial space. This encompassed two floors and the roof, necessitating meticulous planning and execution to ensure seamless integration within the store’s design and functionality.

Deploying our highly skilled workforce on-site, we meticulously installed bespoke rectangular, circular, and fire-rated ductwork, meticulously manufactured to specification DW144 standards. Of particular note was our innovative five-sided ductwork installed on the roof, specifically designed to facilitate rainwater runoff, thereby preventing temperature fluctuations and pooling – a testament to our commitment to both functionality and durability.

Given the prominence of our ductwork within the store, stringent quality control measures were implemented to ensure not only functionality but also aesthetic appeal. Every piece of ductwork underwent rigorous inspection to meet the highest standards, seamlessly blending with the store’s contemporary design while delivering optimal airflow and ventilation.

Furthermore, our procurement team spared no effort in sourcing top-quality fixings and support systems, rigorously tested to withstand varying loads and ensure safety, particularly when suspending ductwork overhead. Lagging and fire-rated ductwork were meticulously installed as per specifications, underscoring our unwavering dedication to compliance and safety standards.
