Our team was assigned a demanding project for John Lewis, which encompassed work at both their Fenny Lock Milton Keynes Distribution Centre and their store in Welwyn Garden City. This case study emphasises our capacity to tackle intricate challenges and achieve successful results for our client, with a particular focus on the accomplishments in Welwyn Garden City.

The main challenge for our team was the installation of five large ductwork units onto the roof of the Welwyn Garden City store. Due to their size, these units could not be transported through the building and required an access point to the roof. This obstacle demanded a creative solution to ensure the successful completion of the project.

To overcome this challenge, our team temporarily closed the road near the store to lift the ductwork units onto the roof using a crane. Prior to the lift, our team prepared the ductwork by loading it onto pallets, shrink wrapping it tightly, and securing it with straps. This preparation ensured the safe and efficient transportation and installation of the ductwork units.

Once on site, our team swiftly stripped out the existing ductwork and installed the replacement air handling units. By carefully preparing the ductwork for transportation and adhering to all necessary safety precautions during installation, we were able to complete the project on time and within budget.

The project resulted in the successful installation of five large ductwork units onto the roof of the John Lewis store in Welwyn Garden City.
